Welcome to Flipped Algebra!

You and I face problems every day! We misplace our homework, lose internet connection, or need a ride to a friend's house. Fortunately, we learn through experience how to solve life's little problems. And hopefully we get better at it. I've learned, for example, that throwing a temper tantrum when I can't find my phone is far less effective than the strategy of retracing my steps.

There are often lots of ways to solve problems including those we encounter in math. As in life, some strategies and tools work better for solving math problems.

One really efficient tool to solve quantitative problems is algebra. Once you learn how to use it, algebra can help you solve a lot of problems efficiently and accurately.

By the end of this unit, you should be able to use algebra to solve a wide variety of equations and word problems. Our class will work through a series of lessons. You'll do some activities online and others with paper and pencil. To get started, click on Lesson 1 in the navigation column to the right. And good luck!
